Have you guys had a chance to get some exterior temperature readings around the cat and compare it to the factory header with the heat shield.
With as much attention that was put into reducing weight from the factory I've got to assume those heat shields are there for a reason. Maybe it's a non issue with this one being a high flow cat producing less heat? I just don't want to run into long term issues like I did with my previous car having wiring problems possibly do to engine bay temps. Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk |

I'm wondering if it's not more a drip shield than a heat shield.
Heat is good, it maintains velocity, we want faster flow and scavenging effect. Definitely stock cats will help create a heat spot. Along with the above question, can the stock shield be modified to accommodate this header? I'll be getting it, regardless.

Good questions. What kind of heat shielding will be provided? Any heat tape like the HKS has for the oil pan, etc?

We got another test unit in for test fitting that came from our jig today. We realized we had not posted any images of the collector for you all, so we wanted to get those before the HFC was welded onto this unit.
Remember, these units will come with a lifetime warranty on any cracks or weld failures ![]() |

This is probably a redundant question but in theory and practice, a cat in the header will quiet down the typical "loud and obnoxious noise" from after-market headers, correct?

Correct. We should have footage soon of this with our V1 that we can compare against the Borla on our V1 which is not catted.
