Rear wheels (and to a lesser extent fronts as well) are located quite aft for an FR sports car, resulting in awkward look and shite weight distribution. Would be a big improvement to have the rear wheels moved a good 6"-10" forward (perhaps move fronts slightly forward as well) relative to c.g.
It's off by more like +150 lb front/-150 lb. rear vs. 50/50 (and 50/50 isn't ideal, more rearward is better). Yes, I can feel understeer due to front tires being overloaded at the track, and also relatively heavy front and light rear tire wear bears witness to this. Ability to put hp down at the wheels exiting low-speed corners is also an issue affecting performance at the track, though not a huge factor in the dry at stockish power... Well I originally thought looks, but seeing one in person today and wow, the new one looks way better in person. The front and side skirts which I wasn’t too sure about come together better than I thought. Booked in for a test drive next weekend.
Pic below and old vs new. |
