Tell that to the designers/engineers at honda.
It's a different market than a miata. And the motors weigh like ~20lbs.

The civic is so big now, it can hardly be considered a compact. Like others have said here, I think Honda could've had a great product with the Fit. Tune the suspension just a little, throw a revvy motor in there and call it a day. I had so much fun in my little mazda 2. That was the car that reconnected me with the joy of simple, fun, and light. It was like a reincarnation of my old 92 civic si hatch but not quite that good. Before the Mazda 2, I was looking at either the ISF or M3 for my "fun car". I'm so glad I ended up with a BRZ.

Come on Honda, do a proper Fit Si. I really couldn't careless about the NSX. I'll never spend that kind of money on a car. I'm past that point in my life (kids).

A proper Fit Si would be amazing. It's a great little car as is.

Screw the Civic and Fit. We need a new RWD Honda under the NSX. Really hoping the mid-engine S2K successor/baby NSX becomes reality.

I would be enthralled if i had the option of a new CTR/ITR though. They were great cause they weren't rwd and still had eye opening performance. Even today they are still setting records in some forms of racing. Although thats probably cause they have such a heavy enthusiast backing, but its still cool to see that a humble 80's 90's something hatchback still tearing it up. Who knows if these non FI motors will hold up though.

The only thing im not too crazy about is how busy the new CTR and alleged US spec ctr is looking, im sure it will grow on me over time but who knows

I just hope all that aero development they did on the CTR goes towards something on the S2K successor. Good aero design and a factory turbo were the main things lacking in the S2K. Going mid-engine makes it even better...
