I posted up a DIY install thread and hit on removing the snorkel without taking off the entire front fender for those who are interested.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15376

As for the intake I only got to take it for a quick spin but loved it. Nice loud growl when you get on the throttle. The install was painless, great instructions, and the quality of the product is fantastic. Very glad I jumped in on the pre-order.

No, it's just the camera flash.

No. The mouth of the box is sufficiently large enough that even at 7500 RPM under WOT, any dirt/debris in the box wouldn't be sucked into the intake tube. There wouldn't be enough of a vacuum.

I'm actually experiencing drivability issues when pulling away from a stop. Sometimes the car will cut power and jerk. It happened 3 times yesterday. I am wondering if anyone else is having this issue, or if it's just my tune that needs adjusting.

I noticed I had to push the gas further down than before to get rolling. Idk if that's what you're describing. Like if initial throttle response has been compromised.

It's close to what I'm talking about. I'd bring the revs up to 1500 or so and start slipping the clutch to take off, then it would lose power and jerk back and forth before bogging and continuing on.

I've only driven 8 miles on it, and it happened 3 times....

Are you on stock ECU?

I'm running the Visconti stg 1 flash and I've noticed that too. It does require more throttle input at lower rpms for some reason. From 4k rpms on though, its definitely improved. I've got about 450 miles on the intake.

Yea, just sucks because I do a lot of city driving and can't keep psuedo-stalling. I hope John can get around to fixing it when he finally gets some more time.

Yeah I'm stock. I agree with civicdrivr. That's exactly what I've noticed, maybe we just have to get use to it.

I noticed this intake doesn't use the same air meter vanes that the stock intake uses. Cobb seems to be the only one who uses them in their intakes. Our ECUs are tuned to use the vanes so that's probably why we are seeing the bogging.

I live in the city, and bogging from a stop is NOT an option for this car.

I'm sorry are the vanes that you're talking about, the sleeves? Like the one that connects to the throttle body?
I agree with you 100% on the bogging part
