So would you just put a switch between ground if you wanted to add one?

Good thread. I actually have a couple of the timed relays that Darren used laying around from another project, tied to throttle switch and opened, closed electric cutouts at WOT when the circuit was active.

The newer relay looks like a much cleaner solution though.

Yes you would wire it inline on the ground to the ebrake connection.

Would it be possible to for the author to edit this thread so that the instructions are not spread out--talking about what didn't work and what had to be changed later-- and all put into one set of directions?

Perhaps I'm a little dense, but I'm confused now about what parts are really needed and exactly how this is done.

I think this is a great idea for people who Auto-X, as it's all too easy to forget to do the 'pedal dance'!

Use post #42 for the new simple switch and the post on page one for pictures.

It would be preferred if the traction control switch default was "off" like the winter setting for the automatic. However, even Ferrari uses the default "on" for its manettino. But I think Ferrari allows you to switch off with the manettino at any position.

Still, for daily driving it can be safer to default to stability control on. I have experienced its nanny action in a positive way on occasion.

I made @2superblus's link VERY prominent at the beginning of my DIY now.

As for my DIY, there is nothing extra in there, all steps are required.

Unless I misunderstand this post, this doesn't simulate the pedal dance for you, it only simulates the 3-5 second traction control disable push. I'm pretty sure the pedal dance goes one step further at disabling things.

You are correct. however the pedal dance does incur other oddities once enabled when driving at the limits and not braking in a straight line.

The pedal dance just put's it in a testing mode.

Yes, other odd things have happened with the braking system when the pedal dance has been done/enabled. Feedback has been given from guys using the
car for track days and autocross. More people have run into what could be referred to as a Ice mode when the pedal dance has been done.
