How does a calculator work based on hp and weight?

It cant factor hp/tq curves, # of gears/shifts, gear ratios, traction, drag, rolling resistance....

Does it matter? Actually 150 mph is fast. Then again the 150 mph top speed is specifically for the BRZ. The FRS is thought of more as a drift car.

MT because it's a sports car and the interaction between me and the gearbox takes me to a state of euphoria.

Stock? Yes. It's lacking about 50hp for it's price/demographic.

F=ma

You're right, it misses a LOT of information when your comparing cars that differ by less than 1/10th of a second but it's not a terrible ballpark considering most stock cars end up with similar values for the gear shifts, traction, drag etc.

Yea. I mean i could see the calc working to compare a stock frs vs one that was stock w about 400lbs weight reduction

But in this case its fwd/rwd, different tire size and compound, different gear ratios (possibly more shifts for one car) different aero/drag, different power bands, and thats just the ones that stand out in my mind. I dunno, just seems like way too many factors that are obviously different between these cars to do "weight and hp = 0-60"

If that's your car in your sig, you seem to have solved that problem.

Clearly the calculator doesn't work anyways since it spit out that the FRZ is faster to 60mph which has been shown to be false in almost every test.

uuhhh... speed is the exact same for both cars.

And they are both slow.

I have 6-speed MT, but I want AT. Not that I don't like MT just want to relax sometimes.

BTW I only have one car.

Learnt to drive manual in the 86/fr-s and never looked back. It's incredibly cliche and corny, but driving manual makes me feel one with the car - as if my senses have melded with the metal/glass/plastic/rubber.

When I drive auto's for an extended duration (2hrs+), my awareness level drops dramatically and fatigue starts kicking me in the balls. Whereas having learnt to drive manual it's never been the case - one time I drove nearly non stop (1 pee break) for 6 hours or more to Great Ocean Rd and back and when I got out of the car, I felt as fresh as when we headed off.

Start-stop traffic on a hill is still PITA and left knee twinges sometimes from all the work required from it but as we all know - "no pain, no gain".
