Good to hear that it may be something minor. When we were looking at it in the pits I can honestly say I wasn't that concerned about it and in no way did the thought even cross my mind that this was a game changer. I think I even mentioned that it may have been possible that it burped it out from heat or something. I think the good thing is that neither myself or Gem were in any state of OMG! when we saw the oil all over the place. No sense in jumping to conclusions until we know what happened type mentality between the two of us. Only thing that crossed my mind was "I hope it didn't run it dry" but from the sounds of it it was plenty good still. We didn't really have many tools out there to do any extensive detective work. I have even had my power steering do this on the track after getting it nice and hot and a smidgen too much fluid in the reservoir. Regardless I agree I think the issue whatever it ends up being is minor.

Semi false alarm
It was with them for less than a day, and they found nothing wrong with the unit, at all. Evidence of oil overheat, some mild heat exposure to the seal, but no physical issue with the impeller, bearings, gears or case. The oil sample I sent was cooked, per their findings as well.

I feel a bit silly, all I needed to do was drain and fill with the right oil, but I am glad they had a look at it and certified it as safe to use.
Thanks Vortech!

Glad to know that it was an oil overfill and that the kit is still good to take hard punches. I'm dying to see your results after your header install!

So you're saying that their instructions are incorrect and you should not add 4oz, but less than 4oz?

I believe what he's saying is make sure you drain all the old fluid out before refilling. And check the dipstick.

I get the feel they really want buyers of their kits to be happy, and will go the extra mile, even if it is my fault to make it right and I dont think that can be underlined enough.

So,whose fault was it seems to never be the question. Seems pretty clear, if its under warranty, its on their dime.

I would be inclined to think that won't be the case with anyone else but you, the test car. (I could be 1000% wrong).

That is why warranties have stipulations, there are covered and uncovered items. They are usually very clear. If every company would warranty an item no matter what, that might drive them to the ground.

No knock on Vortech, I just honestly would think they would hold their warranty terms true.
