I run Continental dw and DWS on all my cars. The performance when it is cold AND wet is very good.

Conti DW's here. Works well in the wet particularly standing water. Different tests have said pretty much it's either too 1 or 2 in wet conditions

Another vote for the Conti Extremecontact DW.
They offer very good grip on dry surfaces and are great for track days and autocross. The shoulders will wear quickly if you frequently track them but not much more than other performance tires. The wet traction of these tires is simply incredible, they maintain traction in even the heaviest of rain. If you're looking for a versatile double duty tire look no further. |

The DWs aren't in the same galaxy as the RE71 when it comes to dry grip. The RE71s are very good in wet conditions, but not in standing water. Not sure about others but I don't drive in standing water very often.
The best tire across the whole spectrum is probably the Michelin PSS, but it's more expensive. |

I have purchased a set of stock wheels (car didn't come with stockers) so if worse comes to worse and the 71R's prove to be dangerous during this El Nino I'll swap them out. Thank again everyone for your input! |
