That's good to hear man.
For me though, it was the other way around. I bought a BMW 335I which I after found out was one of the most unreliable BMW's on the market. I had a lot of engine issues so I got rid of it.

After paying so much money for a brand that I expected quality from I was disappointed so it's why I have a sour taste from BMW now.

If I would ever jump back into luxury cars it would be Volvo. I owned a Volvo XC90 for 5 years and never had issues. But I doubt I'll ever jump back into luxury...I'm very happy with the Accord. 60,000Km and no problems.

I hear you. I drive a S2000 and Tacoma now and both seem to be problem free and cheap to run and repair. I had more problems with my BRZ than any other car I have owned.

Both awesome rides i must say. The S2000 is one the...if not, greatest japanese RWD sports cars.
And i'm not s fan of pick up trucks, but i always told myself, if i were to ever buy one it would be the tacoma haha

The Tacoma is great, I average 12-13L/100km around town on regular, good capability off-road with the ability to tow and haul most things I need, and its actually pretty fast with the 6 speed.

If I recall your BRZ was very heavily modded though so how many of those problems were a result of that? (not asked in anger just curious)

No it was mostly fit and finish and paint problems with the odd electrical issue here and there. Not one problem with the mods (other than some noise from the camber plates and belt system on the S/C).

Well not really huge "problems" more like dislikes then.
I was thinking like blown engine, bad tranny type things when you said you had so many problems.

Well the entire passenger side and roof of my car was repainted at 49km on the odometer due to runs in the factory paint. Dash pad never fit right and had sharp edges, drivers seat squeaked badly over sharp bumps, dome light never worked, crickets, third brake light came loose, second gear would never engage if it was below 0 Celsius outside even when warmed up, and front bumper was not lined up smooth against the headlight from the start.

Wow they must have had an off day when they built that puppy! Some of those issues I have never even heard of before much less never had myself. I think that would even put me off and I ma pretty forgiving for such things.

Yeah it really sullied my ownership time with the car and was certainly a good part of the reason I sold it.

Pretty much the reason for me and the BMW.

I loved the exterior, it was very elegant, and loved the space grey color.
The interior...it was a very nice place to sit especially on long drives...but the mechanical issues were what spoiled the short 1 year ownership unfortunately.

Speaking about our FRS/BRZ cars. My stock muffler was already rusting even though I didn't even drive the car in the winter and this is the 2015 model
Though I think the 2015 model had a lot of problems fixed, like the taillights fogging up etc...

And I do agree, the paint is very cheap. I have like these 2 chip marks on my rear bumper...not sure from what...maybe the wind was strong haha
