I have a Maxima 350 ST. Its a boat, but if you want something relaxed and really comfy then you do actually get some nice kit in it.

Its more a family run about than anything now and I don't drive it often, but when I do the stark differences between it and my BRZ lead me to be really relaxed and kinda pacified with it in the way I drive. To be honest the BRZ has warped my sense of what is acceptable in the way a car drives so, at times, I get a little irritated in other cars for some reason.

OP, thought about something like Focus ST? That'd be my vote.

Sell your FR-S + 20K = Used Cayman S.

Or buy the Maxima which seems to be your inclination.

Cramped, likely to be unreliable down the road, drinks premium, terribad resale value. Yup, sounds like a total departure from his FR-S and not redundant at all.

Save or invest that cash. Unless you have a true need for a 2nd car, a 2nd is usually just a pain in the ass (add'l insurance, property taxes, maintenance, registration, etc).

Drive almost 4,000 miles a month.
Year round.
In Canada
Perfectly comfortable and I couldn't ask for better.
You want a second car for a 10 minute drive?

I wish I had 20k extra right now. I'd pay off the car and toss the rest into investments.

Why spend 20k on a second car. Get a cheap 5k beater and bam save the rest if you must have a second car

If I had $20K to spend on a second car, I would do a filtered search on something like Autotrader and see what I came up with....please hold.

Lets see, I can buy a 2011 Cadillac AWD CTS, with under 80,000 miles on it. That would be nice.

Oh, and there are several 2011/12 BMW 328i available, but friends don't let friends buy used BMWs.

Hmm, there are several 2004/2005 low mileage Corvettes, and quite a few 2011/2012 Camaros, and a couple of Challenger R/Ts.

And there's a 2005 Mercedes SL500 and its red, oh look and a 2008 Porsche Boxter.

Yep, don't see me using it to buy a Civic.....
