Buying a 2nd car. 2012 Maxima SV or 2014 civic ex

Hey guys. So I did REEALLY FKN well this weekend in las vegas. Anyways I have 20k to play around with and am looking to buy a 2nd car (1st being my frs). I'm currently looking at a 2012 Nissan Maxima SV fully loaded w/ 40k miles (290 Heavy Horsepower) and a 2014 Honda Civic EX with 18k miles. Both out the door will be around the same.

Not sure which to get? the 14 will be really udpated and have all the gimicky gadgets but 143 hp is kinda sad. But it also comes with a decent warranty and only 18k miles. Now the Maxima is just a sexy beast. Beautiful interior and way more luxurious and a very nice power plant. Both will be auto except the Maxima will have the paddle shifters which I probably wouldn't use anyway.

If you had to choose, which one and why? I plan to buy once I get back in LA tuesday.

Maybe you should fix your frs first.

i'd go with a civic if it was a daily beater/family hauler, save on gas and maint. CVT doesn't seem to do the VQ35 any justice

20k i'd get a mazda3

lol fixed that problem dude. Turned out it just needed the ECU update. Drives like a BEEEAST. btw OFT is a godsend.

Dump 20k into FRS, or better yet, throw that 20k into an RRSP(do you even have that in the U.S.? Or is it like, a 401k?) and watch the interest pile up on it and have a lot of extra money for when you retire...

Personally, I'd do the savings thing, or I'd buy another house to rent it out. But that's just me.

Buy a Ducati and use the spare bills to light your cigars with the next time you go to Vegas.

well you want it for work so you not need the hp, if this was my two choices i will go with the civic just because is newer and less mileage

Well my commute to my office is only 10 miles a day round trip. So gas isnt the issue. My issue is 290hp ballsy Luxury and way more comfortable interior with GPS and all the goodies. Or a lil gutless civic with slightly better gadgetry. I can't make up my mind. Shyeit this is hard

Pay off your current car. If it's already paid off, put it in savings towards retirement or a down payment on a house (or 2nd house)
