Well I love my FRS. But sometimes It's kind of nice having a "normal" car to drive that's just comfortable ya know. Not knocking the twins or anything but you don't drive these cars to be comfortable.

OP seems to have made up his mind in purchasing a 2nd vehicle. I'm sure he'd appreciate if others posting on here would help him in his decision in choosing a car rather than them stating their opinion on what they would do. Money may not even be an issue for OP, yet people are talking to him like he needs to invest/save his money.
On topic, judging from what you posted, you're more enthusiastic about the Maxima. You should get it. Sure it may have more miles, but like you said in a post below, your commute is only 10 miles roundtrip. Miles won't add up fast at that rate. It'd also be nice to have a bit more power while driving every once in awhile compared to the twins. The civic and maxima are both extremely reliable, but I'd choose the Maxima. |

Get a "all cover" health insurance and live insurance for your family. Take your wife for a vacation in the mediterranean, then buy FI kit for the frs. Everyone win |

Possibly take the civic as the daily because it's slower. One of the advantages of having my CVT Fit as a daily is it makes the FRS that much more special when it comes out of the garage. One of the reasons I held off of getting the FRS sooner was when I had my GTI as a daily I just had a hard time owning a sports car that was slower than my commuter car. YMMV though.

Go to Hertz and rent a Maxima for a week. It will help you decide if you like it or not. Out of their normal rental fleet, it is one of the cars I enjoy driving the most that won't catch an eye on an expense report.
I think the civic and the maxima are two totally different cars so it is really difficult to compare them directly. I would decide which size vehicle you want in your price range, then start cross shopping those cars. |

If you like the civic, get an SI. It will be a more "normal" comfortable ride than an FR-S but still a sporty car to drive. Of course you may need to get something older with a bit higher mileage to meet your budget but I think its worth it...if you love to drive lol But if you really really love to drive, forget the comfort and luxury and keep driving the FR-S daily. And just pocket the extra 20k. Maybe you can use it on your next car
