I had the pleasure of riding in a 500hp factory five cobra last night... just a quick trip to Cabelas. We spent 90% of our time behind minivans. It was almost unbearable sitting at a light with this big grumbling cobra... To me, the extra HP/torque does not mean squat unless you can actually use it.

But I'm not about to tell the guy who has 90k in this monster that we could have had more fun driving in my BRZ

My desire for a lot more power than necessary came when I saw a corvette pull out into a short passing lane and zip past about 15 cars before pulling back in. That's something I've only ever been able to do in one of my cars. I definitely can't do it in my current car, but that's a limit I accepted when I bought an NA 2.0.

I think the heavy clutch comment could be the impression he got from the force needed when starting disengagement, caused by the pedal return spring. After removing the spring and adjusting the pedal height I love this car 10x more.

It's real and it's raw, or at least more raw than 95% of the other cars on the market. It doesn't pretend to be what it's not it just buzzes up to redline and lets you know along the way. I don't think describing it as a blender is inaccurate but compared to some of the wheezy stuff out there I'll take this any day.

Buddy was convinced I needed an exhaust then one day I floored it up an on-ramp and he said "You know, it doesn't sound half bad".

Personally I like sleepers, I don't want everybody to know if I'm at 1/2 throttle or 5/8ths on my way home from work.

Edit: and that HKS one above seems pretty decent but I'd have to hear it at freeway speeds, drone is an instant reject in my book and this car is loud enough as it is.

@chaoskaze, @BRZZZZZZZZZZ, I can't quote you because of the special characters.

It's funny, even with those clips, I can't shake that urge to do a compression test for fear of a burned valve or something.

It's totally personal and has no bearing on longevity so never mind what others say. Enjoy your car! <wub wub>

I don't drive mine much, its so loud it attracts a lot of attention, especially in enclosed spaces

What I want:
  • 2200lb, 400hp RWD car
    • Just drop in a boosted FA20, if FullBlown can do it, great big Toyobaru should be able to do it as well (emissions, reliability/warranty and engineering be damned)
  • Luxury interior
  • It has to be super thrilling to drive but effortless to hold at Formula D drift angles, mmmkay?
  • Slick shifting 6 speed that is effortless, engaging and doesn’t grind (torque and reinforcement be damned)
  • Great sound system
  • I has to be liiiiiike…engaging ya know? Get the heart and soul stirring. Except when I am on the highway. Then I want a cocoon of soft pillow feathers and complete insulation from road noise. What is a compromise again?
  • 35+ mpg, obviously
  • It needs to sound like a 3L V12 Ferrari, naturally of course, none of that speaker engine noise
  • And I am going to need it for the price of a mid-range Mazda 3.

OMG WHY YOU NO BUILD MY CAR I TOLLY WOULD BUY IT. Once I get my license and/or save up about 95% of that requested MSRP.

I actually rather like the sound of the stock car. Its got a little growl to it and isn't buzzy and wheezy like most of the econo boxes on the road today. Reminds me a bit of the A4 I used to cruise in. Of course, I just bought the Speedfactory UEL header back, so maybe i'm just a bit partial to that Subaru rumble.

Nowhere is this more apparent than the StarLink infotainment system, which has a Phone icon that looks like a Palm Pilot and functions about as well.
No need to kick Palm when its down, lol. They worked great back when they were actually a thing, like pagers did for about 5 minutes
