Thinking about doing it this weekend, but its kinda pricey.

You're supposed to pick up a decent amount of torque though, so I'm really leaning towards it.

The owner's manual reccomends 93. I only pump 94. 91 if I'm in a crunch.

No no no... Timing doesn't matter because the plugs have been disconnected. Duh.

The 3K limit is because of the VVT and a huge torque bump that will grenade the internals. If you have OFT you're lucky because I heard @Shiv@Openflash is working on a tune to flatten it.

This. That being said, I ran 91 in the car for a year and about 10,000 km up in Thunderbay because that's all they had. The car seems to like 94 a bit better though. Well minus those crickets. Where's my fly swatter?

I'm on a 91 tune, so I go out of my way for shell 91.

However, I'm thinking of going back to a 93 tune, so long as running 91 every now and then in a pinch isn't going to make my motor esplode. It's extra temping since I have a petro-can with 94 about 1.5km from my house. I'm lazy and I like convenience.

A friend of mine has a 350z tuned for 94. His tuner said he can run 91, just don't beat on it too much (tracking, wot for extended periods, red line shifts ect.). Which tuning software are you using?

You can only get 91 here in Cali. That's what I'm usin' in the SS, so I figure I might as well stick it with it in the FRS. It's kept that L99 engine knock free and purring for 5+ years, gotta be good for the Boxer. I think it was $3.59/gal last fill up.

The owners manual recommends 93 but requires a minimum of 91.

*: If unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 93 AKI (98 RON) is not available,

unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 AKI (95 RON) may be

used with no detriment to engine durability or driveability.

Yes. I only use the best for my fleet of cars. Fwiw, I can definitely feel a difference in power between 91 and 94 with my buttdyno. Again, you can use 91. But is it optimal? Not really.

I recall a dyno sheet showing both fuels tested. The 91 oct only put down some 140whp where the 93 put down around 160whp.

Gotta pull that timing with the fast-burning stuff. Isn't the DI also retarded for the same reason? (DI novice)
