Those pictures are a strong positive, and so is living next to the ocean. But what are the downsides of moving to Oregon?

Hmm let's see... No sales tax, clean air, clean water, good skiing, craft beer... Oh crap wait, those are all positives haha!

Really having to scrape the bottom of the barrel for some negatives... I got one, if you live here more than 3 years you are GUARANTEED to maim/kill some form of wildlife with your car. So far I've hit one deer, two birds, one snake, and I took the head clean off a chipmunk with my skid plate (poor little guy).

Also, if you don't live in Portland, your basic entertainment is limited to only outdoor activities. So if you don't like hiking, camping, hunting, rafting, skiing, climbing, etc than it isn't the place for you.

politics are what they are i'm just glad all the adds and BS is done. I was getting tired of all the finger pointing that politicians do just to try an secure the uninformed and easily persuade voters. Its not grade school grow up and run more campaigns that express what your plans to be beneficial are not that 15 years ago so-n-so did X stupid thing

They're too busy making my double espresso salted caramel mocha frappucino to be judging me, so I'm good.

Very true, it's okay though. They are more scared of you than you are of them. Just avoid going to coffee shops at odd hours and you should be safe.

I've got four years until I retire, so I've got some time to look around. I need to talk to my wife, but Oregon is much more attractive than SLC. She had been thinking Maine.
