My 2014 started chirping before 500mi, then I stepped on the gas. Hasn't returned, but I'm still under 1000mi, so no guarantees on that as a fix. Mileage fell from 31.5 to 28.5 as well  I feel like the car doesn't behave well when it's sipping gas.

My car "idles" at ~600rpm all the time -- when it's in gear (A/T). A/C isn't a bad guess as a load source -- maybe the alternator (is it dark when this happens)? Pretty light as a load, but maybe you catch a transient? Like I said, though, when sipping gas, the car doesn't behave nicely. It feels like it's constantly changing it's mind as to how it wants to run. I'm guessing the engineers didn't spend a lot of time working on the helium-footed 0-12mph range

I find this car to be fine wrt mileage. I get better mileage than my wife's Elantra, and better mileage than the Saturn it replaced.

I don't have any clacks, but the car REALLY doesn't like turning in the first quarter mile, and it hums/groans/softly-wails when stopped (and in gear). If it ain't one thing it's another.

Like mentioned earlier this CAN be fixed, just use E0 gas, there is only one station in my area that has it, but a day or so after filling up the chirping went away completely. Granted the non ethanol gas is roughly 30c a gallon more than normal premium, it is worth it, the chirp is annoying.

The tail lights will retain a little water between the molded halves when you wash it. It dries out.
It's outside the seal though, so not really a problem. The TSB is for water getting inside the enclosure.

The rear deck clang can be fixed easily with some spray lube from the trunk.
Wait. That sounded rude.

2. Rear driver side "clack" "harsh click" noise when driving hard, turning hard Only noticed this once or twice, haven't been able to recreate it. I notice a clack/click sound almost as if a penny is falling onto metal in the rear side of my car. I think it's the rear decklid thing. Heard this can be fixed but also inevitably returns. Worth the fix?

3. Idle dip/engine shudder, intermittent about a handful of times I've gotten a strange idle dip/engine shudder either when coming to a stop and it happens around 25mph (whilst coming to a stop) or when completely idle at stop. Idle will dip below 800rpm then back up to about 1100 rpm then to normal idle. The other issue seems to be as stated during stopping, engine will make a strange shudder-noise like if it's stalling? Not sure...doesn't seem to really affect anything.

4. Beginning condensation in tail-lights most noticeable after washing my car, I get MINIMAL condensation right around the top edge of the tail lights going around the rim. Has anyone gotten this successfully fixed?

So far no other issues, I drive my car like a grandma would 95% of the time and have only laid down on it a handful of times.

No mods currently stock.

Any known fixes or TSB's that they will fix and honor without complaint?
hey there!!! ive had the same issues in my 2013 the way the rpm dip was fixed in mine was by buying a drop in filter, got the k&n drop in filter and car runs smoother and no more rpm dip. hope this helps!!

as for the Fuel-pump chirp, this is the first time it has happened and it's been kind of intermittent.

The idle dip has been really intermittent too....not sure what causes it or how to recreate it.

I'm going to go to Toyota with a list of these things and demand they get fixed.
The tail lights condensation should be fix, i believe they just need to reseal the gasket. I will get my car back in today afternoon, and i will updated the results.
Yes make a list before you head to the dealer so you have all the things that need to be look at.

ive had the tsb.done to mine and it didn't fix the problem.
its hard to find a non-ethanol gas here. I use shell Vpower and im sure it have 5% ethanol.

I drive my car hard whenever I'm in the mood to do so, once the engine/oil is warmed up, and I'm still averaging 27-28 mpg on the dashboard with mostly city driving.

I have a very early build FR-S (March 2012) and I have had the Tails replaced under warranty for Condensation. The new ones have not had an issue but I read that they still can. When you wash the car, don't spray directly at the seam between the trunk and quarter panels.

About the only thing I have found for the Rev Dip is to let the car come down from high idle after start which takes about a minute. It will still dip but not as low in my observation.

I use the Zen method with the Chirping, with just shy of 19K miles with my cricket companions. I just ignore it and keep on driving.

Be prepared for your next issue, starting will become sluggish or fail to turn over at all for one or two attempts. I turn the key to Accessory so all the lights and gauges are on but before the car turns over, let it sit a heartbeat then start. The fuel system has to prime and giving the pump a sec to get going before making a demand for fuel really helps the car turn over. I had a battery replaced under warranty the first time this happened but the issue persists.

This is a car for the car lover, not everyone as it has plenty of quirks. I expect I will be like Biff Tannen with a car no one else but me can start in 10 years.

I have all the 'issues' OP posted.

I don't consider them 'issues'.

The chirp is just a noise, same with the decklid pop (there's usually so much other noise going on that I'm not even sure I have it, the car is noisy), the idle dip is apparently normal for modern Toyotas (as long as it doesn't stall) and the tailight condensation is also normal for Toyotas. The only advice I have is that the condensation you're seeing is normal, it's mostly just around the edge and like early morning condensate, it doesn't get any worse (no collecting water in mine) that's just kind of the way they are. Been driving mine since January and it hasn't been back to the dealer since the moment I drove it off the lot with all the paperwork signed.

Edit: My chirping went away on it's own completely by 10k miles, I'm on 16k miles now. All 91 octane E10, I don't bother with the 'nice gas' unless it's conveniently located.

I Drive the shit out of mine now I was worried at first about all the minor issues I had but I got more pissed off with all the dealer vists and the no,solutions and bullshit answers from the dealers . So now I drive it like I want and how it ment to be driven and if breaks I will call the tow truck and tell them to take it to the dealer and have it repaired with there so called warranty ,

Enjoy the car drive it if breaks fix it if you want upgrade a few things and enjoy it some more .

Best thing I did was get it tunned got rid of most of my troubles ,

It is a shame, brand new car with such annoyances. I've been driving like a grandpa too....so it shouldn't be having any of these issues.

I have 3800 miles on my 2013 and so far.

1) Don't have ethanol mixed gas so no chirps

2) I have the rear deck, I just did the DIY, but it looks like I have to have my dealership replace the back rest as it now only clicks whenever the back rest is up, proved it by shaking the back rest when locked in. There's a TSB

3) Mine dips too 500 RPM's at almost every stop light, I run the A/C all the time, has not been an issue, and my car pulls hard every time. It's a non issue unless you get the cel + traction control light.

4) No condensation so far, but there's a TSB

That's great if you live somewhere this is possible. For us Californians, there are 11 stations listed in the entire state with E0. The closest to me is 110 miles one way, so that's not happening.
