So... anyone get any closer to figuring out what the heck "security" means? I'm trying to look at other models of Subaru like the WRX limited etc, and comparing it to the base but can't quite seem to find info on what it could be yet besides what Jeff alluded towards (though ... doesn't quite seem like security to me lol).

mine got towed once with these little boots on wheels. Front end was in the air and they lifted the back wheels on this mechanism that allowed the back wheel sto remain stationary.

^Key signal repeating/replay is worthless even for garage door openers these days. This is not to say that cracking those is impossible, especially older ones. But it is certainly not $50 worth of equipment. And much more than $1000 for a new car.
