We're going to see more people fall off from the honey moon stage and dump these cars. They are the best kind of consumers with their never ending quest to find the perfect car, getting distracted to other models, feeling the buyers remorse rest of their lives. Its what keeps the economy going!
I will fall into this category when the new Supra comes out I suppose.

I think the problem you will find with this car is that there is going to be a percentage of drivers who only bought it based on all the over the top reviews of the car and all the hype. Some of them did not even test drive the car before they bought it, nor did they drive many of the competition. I love my BRZ. But I did not buy all the hype, and I drove everything out there under the sun. I knew what I was getting, flaws and all.
Honestly, this is the third RWD sports car I have owned in the snow, and snow tires and adjusting your driving habits have always worked for me. I have more confidence driving my BRZ with dedicated snow tires than I do driving our FWD minivan that has all weather tires, and my wife agrees as well. As for build quality, I have had zero complaints but have not owned the car a year yet. I added some sound deadening material for the doors and trunk and it really seemed to help with noise. I have zero rattles. I added a clear bra to the front bumper, hood, and mirrors and have not had issues with paint chips. At the end of the day, the car is a pretty inexpensive sports car. I don't expect it to not have flaws, and I deal with them as they pop up. I will say that trading a Toyota/Subaru for a VW is not going to help with reliability. Having owned two VW's, good luck with that. Last edited by thill; 09-21-2013 at 04:54 PM. |

Interesting result with your experience. I am in my 6 month of owning the car and I haven't notice any of these issues. I'll be curious to see what happens in the following 6....
