All the turbo kits can make similar hp on paper, but will need proper tuning to make the number.

And we've reached 280whp on our stage 1 without touching the injectors and fuel pump, but had to put in a clutch because it started slipping at those power levels.

Turbocharger kits (and superchargers as well) are not locked in to a specific power level. Local variations in gas quality and altitude will change whatever figure is quoted "on the box", then mix in whatever dyno is used.

Nearly every kit on the market can probably reach the max hp and/or torque available on pump gas.

i completely disagree with that statement. i'm not aware of anyone running 20+psi (or coming anywhere near maxing out any of the common turbos) on pump gas.

Probably didn't define it clear enough - nearly any of the kits can max out what the FA20 can do on pump gas. Whether it's reached at 6psi or 12psi, there's just going to be a max "limit" to what the 2.0-liter 12.5:1 FA20 motor can do (unless it's built for boost) on pump 91~93 octane gas.

And I wouldn't expect to see anyone at 20+ PSI on pump without meth on a stock block. You're asking for knock at that kind of PSI with only pump gas. Perhaps with a built block you'll see it...but more likely on a built block with low compression pistons.

Octane and knock are the limiting factors, not PSI.

I'm aware of that, but you need to run big pressure ratios to max out any of these turbos. No one is making 450whp at 12psi on a 2871, either. The point is the same.

Ok you were talking about maxing the FA20, I thought you meant maxing out the turbos/blowers in the kits. My apologies.
