Headers, TRD exhaust. Original car had 138HP at crank. I am around 145-147. At 2200LBs it is still pretty quick, has some of the best brakes ever put on a production car and handles like nothing else in its price bracket. I have also owned a 280Z, Mazda RX-7, 350Z and a lot of American "sports" cars. None of them will corner like this thing.

EDit: MR-S cost $23098 MSRP 12 years ago. That is why there were not a lot of them sold in the US. If the FR-S comes in at around that price I guess it would be a real bargain.

Good to hear, yeah it was a great driving car, I loved driving it. Good luck with it.

I miss my MR-S. Had bracing all around, C-ONE quad exhaust, TRD air inlet, TRD catalyzer, TRD headers. Like the FR-S, you could enjoy the sporting feel at daily commute speeds. My G35 that replaced it felt numb in comparison.

Before I sold it, I parted everything out, bought a stock header, and gutted the pre-cats as a courtesy to the next owner to prevent engine failure. Not smog legal in CA but they never check.

Scion head units were a popular plug-and-play mod. On mine, I programmed a custom .gif animation of the Techno Pro Spirit MR-S (shown in pic) captured from a Best Motoring episode.

There was a yellow MR-2 for sale in my town not long ago. I should have test drove it, at least.

I never like the look of the mr-s, but the old mr2 was awesome, especially the turbo ones. Hopefully Toyota will bring back the mr2 and the supra.

I forgot where i read it but i think it was Tada-san that said that they wanted to build a model both below and above the 86.

^Thank ya,
I do remember hearing about that too and someone pointed out it the lower model is the iQ. Serious enthusiasts say it's a really fun car to drive.
