Anybody know when the new Cayman will be out? I think it'll look a little bit like the Carrera GT based on how the new Boxster look. I've driven the Cayman R and it is awesome. I'm sure the new Cayman will be even better.

I like the car a lot. I remember reading as well about the turbo-4s, but I guess they never materialized. Porsche had 4 cylinders before 6, anyway.

Looks great, honeslty (maybe its me being picky) but I'm not feeling that spoiler looking thing falling into the rear tail lights.

But besides that, looks phenominal

The term "generation" has been used somewhat liberally when referring to the Cayman and Boxster. It's been very inconsistent what differentiates between a refresh versus a new generation. Basically, it's a marketing term.

A more specific way to refer to the first and second "generations" is 987.1 and 987.2. Yes, there are some pretty noticeable differences between the two. But I would agree with your reference that the Cayman really has had only one "generation".

Similar to the Cayman, I've seen references to the 987.2 Boxster as a new "generation" as well.

I haven't heard/read anywhere that the body panels are different between the 987.1 and 987.2. Care to share?
