Actually these articles can take a very small sample size and make it sound like all of the vehicles. The fact that we are only into the fourth year of the model also actually works against it not for it. It is a known fact that the first 1 or 2 years of any car produced can have bugs. This car is no different and there were several relatively small things that pooped up at first but seem to have completely disappeared. Since most of the data that they would be using would be from those early cars then it makes things seem way worse that they really are. If you dig deep enough you can find issues with any car so unless it happens to me I just let it ride. My own car has had zero issues and at 50K miles already I would think if they were going to happen they would have by now. I am not however going to go searching for what could go wrong.

I've never owned a Subaru without a dash rattle, for what it's worth.

Actually my California car that's never heard of snow has it, but like humfrz describes it's more like discoloration than anything else.

Probably going to be a summer project to pull it off and blast it with a bunch of spray paint to give it some resilience...

As for the so-called Japanese mfg being at the top of their game, imo they've been resting on their laurels for about 15 years content to fatten profit margins and collect bonuses because nobody is really doing it better. Hope the Koreans and Tesla can make a splash soon.
