I respect that, but here I was thinking it was two of the ugliest cars I've ever seen.

Too much hood only to conform with conventional form factor expectations.
You don't need all that wasted hood and overhang with no ICE to keep out of the load area. Tom's Rhinoplasty should be making bank.

2013 FRS is the one with the good suspension. The rest are just Honda Civics.

Its actually a pretty cool looking throwback civic...too bad its range sucks (150ish kms?...but that was pretty normal at the time i think), it was overpriced (as is typical for early production electric cars...i think it cost like 40k for something that should be half the price) and they never released it here. i think they're discontinuing it pretty soon....since honda somehow doesnt know how to make any other electric car...so they're partnering with GM. |

The torque dip was the worst thing EVER to happen to any production car ever. Worse than the reliability of a rotary engine, worse than dieselgate, worse than the GM V8-6-4 motor that was too early to try cylinder deactivation.... worse than the Edsel vagina grilles, worse than the GM Diesel engines when they thought they could get away with just converting a gas engine to a diesel engine...worse than italian reliability...worse than Subaru STI head gasket failures.....etc I could go on and on and on but EVERYONE will tell you that you have never experienced automotive garbage unless you experienced the wonders of torque dip. The most useless, unsafe, flawed "feature" in a modern car ever. Other than that the cars were pretty good though. |

IMO no more a risk than any other used car. I'd stay away from the VIN numbers that the recall affected whether or not they had it done or not however I've never heard of any having valve spring issues. I'd go by mileage and service records as a start and buy from an older owner if possible. A well kept '13 will be better than a '14 or later with high mileage and questionable records and owner.

To clarify, Recall work can produce catastrophic engine failure (ask me how the Fuk I know). From a resale perspective the recall NOT being done may be problematic so just staying clear of those cars altogether is a lot safer.

The rest of the U.S. and all of Canada just don't care if the recall is done or not.
