I figured you'd gut everything out before the thought of reupholstering if it was that bad on the eyes.

I want to look around at an interior that's pleasing to the eye, with colours that are nice, materials that suit the car, textures that compliment the quality. When you touch certain areas, you want to have words like 'quality', 'class', and 'sleek' come to mind, not 'rubbish', 'cheap', or 'half assed.'

Spent a bit of time in the Toyota Aurion (basically a redesigned, Aussie Camry) and their interiors are nice. The higher end one has quite an impressive interior with a sexy smoked glass sort of look to the radio surround area.
This is Scion and Subaru we are talking about here and especially with the cost, I highly doubt we'll see anything that (well at least for us here in the US since we have Scion). Look at the current Subaru and Scion cars and they look bland to say the least.

I'm in Australia, so Scion's not even on the map for me. Actually I take that back, they brought the xB out here last year or the year before as a Toyota. And I'd go for the Toy over the Sub version just because Sub design hasn't done a lot for me in recent times. Toy hasn't had much going for it in that department either, but as a brand I'd follow them before Sub, in terms of actually buying a car. And I think they'd be in better stead to really taking a RWD coupe to the upper realms of awesome.

But anyway, point is it'll be a Toy out here and I'm hoping they have a decent go at supplying a nice interior.

You can't tell just by that pic. We need to see the full REAL interior.

The top part of the dash in that picture looks to be similar to the material used in the supra, which is a soft plastic/vinyl.
