So far switching from Costco 93 octane premium to Shell V 93 octane 10% ethanol has made it run less noisy, but it still does soft chirping on soft gear changes when revs drop. The crickets have lost most of the battalion! Lets get the rest out of there!

Well that's all fine and dandy but peoples solutions can be quit costly because no mater how you feel about this topic your warranty will end if they find anything in your gas tank bottom line sorry!!! trust me i make the call you dont!!! So i guess dont bring your car into my dealership!!! I am just trying to help before somebody does something that they will regret. In my opinion as and owner of an FRS is that if my Eng blows up Toyota will find whats wrong with it and make that repair for free because i have the factory warranty. Yes i would be sad to have my car down for the time but if that helps find the problem for all of us have at it. I'll just Drive my GTS!!!

As i have never tried this i cant guarantee anything but i do have a question. can you light 2-Stroke oil on fire with a match?

Latest from the Subaru rep I've been working with on my front bumper cover fitment issues is that they've logged enough complaints and a resolution is being worked on by Toyota. No info past that.

He stressed again, and cited Toyota as saying this as well, that it is not a detrimental problem to the engine or the fuel system. Adding anything other than actual fuel lubricant (he mentioned zMax, but I'm sure other brands are fine) such as 2-stroke oil can be potentially harmful to the motor and would recommend against it.

To anyone looking for a repair in the form of a TSB that's pouring gunk in their fuel tank should consider this, as your claim could very well be denied if they detect additives in your fuel. They have eyes on these open forums and know what users are doing with a surprising amount of clarity.

So what is 2T if it isn't an actual fuel lubricant? It's the most tried and tested fuel lubricant out there.
Why would something like zmax and other 'fuel lubricants' be recommended as alright to use?
How would they analyse the fuel to find which fuel lubricant had been used and then decide which one is acceptable?

480 miles and no chirping sounds. Changed my oil @ 450 miles and use 93 octane.

Good question.
Pour some in your underpants, drop a match on it and pull them back up.
If it gets hot you can let us know, yes it does burn.

Dude really you can put whatever you want in your car, i dont give a $hit truthfully.

What I am saying for the people in the US just leave it because we will find out an additive was dumped into the system weather its found in the gas tank, the lines, the filter and or spark plugs. We will check pressures and I'm sure one burns slower then the other and we will light gas on fire (away from the buildings and cars, in a safe location)

Translated to mean: as expected, the dealership will do everything in its power to deny your warranty claim first and foremost.

Thanks for being honest!

Just so you know no dealership will run a fuel sample in a lab to see what is in your fuel it is too costly, plus they would have no clue what additives are in the fuel from station to station. I went rounds and rounds with a dealership trying to say I had water in my tank but they couldn't prove it and refused to show me the sample they said they pulled.

~200 miles and heard the chirping of the injectors sitting at a light last night for the first time. Seems to remain for just a moment during rev up before releasing the clutch and then dies out, so maybe there a flow aspect to it.

I've now got a vision of this hi tech forensic procedure out in the car park,
with a sample of the customer's fuel in an open container being set on fire.
If there's any sticky residue on the end of the testers burnt finger when he wipes the empty container the customer is declined warranty and that evidence will be tendered in court as evidence by the expert witness.

Sorry dude, just having a laugh. No offense.
