The 245/40 Indy has a tread width of 8.3", and will fit on 17x8 +45 Enkei PF01 wheels nicely. They will fit without rubbing lowered on the TRD springs.

Adding both bolts may add enough camber to have the tire touch the strut. You may have to add a spacer to add both bolts. (I have read here that -2.5 camber is possible with both bolts)

As for flush: An 8" wheel with a +35 offset is generally considered flush.

Cheers, FRS/BRZ owners!

I'm looking to buy a set of wheels before the spring comes here in the Northeast. I'm looking at the setup 8.5 +30 in the front, 9.5 +35 in the back. I'm not lowering it.
Will 245/35/18 (front) & 265/35/18 (rear) fit with no issues?
If not, what tire size should I go with?

Thank you!

Welcome to the Forum.

It looks like your wheels will poke approx 0.6 inches front and rear. The 265 is going to rub also.

To make these fit, you will need some or all of these: Narrower tires, coilovers, camber bolts, tophats, and LCA. (Parts are for camber, you can use them at stock-ish ride height)

GOOD LUCK!

The meaty tire thread is Mandatory reading for those that want a 265.

Thank you for the reply!
What's the widest tire I can run on this setup w/o lowering it and messing with camber?

Read post 213, 214, & 219. Looks like with that offset for the rear a 245 would be maxed out. So 225/40 front. The stretch will be very similar front and rear. They will poke.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...=28017&page=16

Here is a 18x8.5 +30 He has a 235/40.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44291

A 225/40 has a larger diameter than the 245/35. Going up to a 235/40, especially without lowering will make the wheel gap look different front and rear. My best advice: Read the meaty tire thread.

Leonardo, after long hours of research I decided to go with 18x9.5 +38 square setup. I'll be running stock height for now, so can you help me decide between 245/35/18 and 245/40/18? There'a guy running the same setup that I'm going for: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...1&postcount=89

Thank you and happy holidays again

I have 245/35/18 MPSS. I went with them because, they are the correct diameter, weigh 2lbs less than a 245/40, and have a larger contact patch.

I know Michelins are expensive, and that the 245/35 can cost more than a 245/40, but right now on Tirerack, they have Ventus Evo 12's for 150 each. (not bad )

I understand that if you are not going to lower you car, that you may want a taller tire to "eat up" some of the gap. If this is your logic, then go for the taller heavier tire. Most guys eventually lower their cars though...

Happy holidays! Glad I can help.

On my Legacy I ran a set of SSR Comps in 17x8.5 +48, 245/40 MPSS. Will they fit my BRZ without too much fuss? Stock performance pack suspension for now, but planning on dropping the car with a set of RCE Yellows, or maybe another set of RCE/KW coilovers, which were amazing on the BD chassis.

I'm also sitting on a set of SSR Type-C RS's in 17X8.0 +35, maybe better to stagger?

First of all... Welcome to the Forum!

Second, I am stoked for you that you already have two sets of wheels that will fit.

Your 17x8.5's are rare. Anyway, 17x9 is popular. A 17x9 +45 is very close (2mm to 4mm) to the stock strut and spring, especially with a 245/40 tire. Your 17x8.5 +48 wheels should be 3.4 mm farther away from the spring perch. Try them on your BRZ and post some pics!

No clearance issues at all with the 17x8 +35 wheels.
I would get a set of camber bolts for the front. They are inexpensive.

RCE springs work well with the stock struts and get great reviews.

This is a great tool for looking at how wheels and tires compare.

GOOD LUCK!

Leonardo, thanks for the reply! And the advice, already got some bits on the way to address camber. Will definitely post up pics when I'm brave enough to break out the setup. Freezing temps now here in NY. Maybe I'll give in to temptation on a warm day tho.

And yes the by 8.5s are pretty hard to come by. I know because I searched for a while! Always been a big fan of the Comps and Type-Cs, also had sets on my 2.5 RS Coupe (16x7), and my bugeye WRX wagon (17x7.5). IMO they're as classic and simple a wheel as you can get but still look great on most cars. They also happen to be 14lbs a piece in 17x8.5, which is nice
