-What do you recommend I pick up to make install easier, did you guys end up using any little here or theres (zip-ties, Loctite shit like that)?
Get the bumper bar and you won't have to cut the OEM crash beam. Everything needed comes with the kit. Just have tools and time.

hope this helps.
Thanks man, cleared up a few things for sure. I've decided to take a circular saw to the factory crash beam, I'm not willing to sacrifice the structural integrity of my car and possibly be denied a claim in the event I have a front end collision. Glad to hear that your tuning experience was a positive one!

You realize that sentence contradicts itself right? The bumper bar is going to have much more structural integrity than a cut up factory beam.

I'll take my chances on the factory beam with a piping's worth of metal cut out over a "drift bar". The cut up beam at least has a chinaman's chance in hell of being overlooked by someone inspecting the car in the event of a crash than the aftermarket bars.

I picked up a spare one. No need to chop up the one my car came with when craigslist has em cheap.

We now have oil cooler brackets that will now work with Fogs, Long Route IC piping, Short Route IC piping, OEM Bumper Bar, and our Bumper Bars.

We also switched to Investment Cast Stainless Steel Merge Collectors. Along with the smooth merge inside the collector the wastegate path has a bigger opening with no disruption of flow

For those with the recirculated waste gate, does the dump pipe just go into the down pipe like a slip gasket? Are there no gaskets/clamps etc?

I have the two pipes that fit into each other, but they aren't especially tight and most other slip joints I've seen are double walled. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

So who's got a kit with the No Trim or Cutting FMIC option that's new for 2016?

I REALLY like the idea of a UEL GTX2867R kit with that option.

I'd like to see more pics if anyone has some. @JDLAutoDesign?

If only this had an option that routed the dump tube out of the hood. You could have it peaking through one of your hood vents

Not that I have any chance to get one soon, but even still, I'm really torn between this kit, PTunning kit and the cheapo SBD kit.

I guess I have plenty of time to think about it.

Or get the crash bar they offer. I did that to save myself the cutting trouble and the intercooler mounts to it as well.

If I had to do it over again I would have definitely bought their crash bar instead of cutting up the stock one. You have to remove so much material on the stock bar that the structural integrity is compromised. I could literally bend the crash beam after cutting it.

Don't forget that your crash beam has a VIN sticker on it. If anything get a spare crash beam, have it cut and then welded up with some cut up piping to keep the integrity somewhat there. This was my original plan but a buddy of mine who was suppose to weld it up for me bailed so I installed it as is. I still may pull it out and have it welded up.

I would prefer not to replace my crash beam or modify it for the original version of the JDL turbo kit. Firstly, I like the peace of mind knowing that it's there in case of an impact. My Velox splitter rods are mounted to the front face of the stock crash beam and it would be tedious to adapt it to a tubular crash bar. Also I've heard from multiple professional tuners and kit owners (in the owners thread) that the MAF placement isn't ideal and can make it difficult to tune properly. Not impossible, just difficult. I know that HRI and Delicious have made it work, but the MAF pipe and sensor placement on the "no cutting" version seem to be a much better location/design and should be easier to tune without issues.

Just a little time and creativity for your splitter rods. I actually spoke to velox yesterday about doing that if I went with a splitter and they said they mounted rods to a drift armor bar and it came out really well. As for the tuning aspect , @DeliciousTuning and Zach[/MENTION @DeliciousTuning are professional tuners with some extensive tuning history and have been able to tune my kit with no issues. Hell, my tune was a flash and go with no dyno tuning on my part and it was ready to go upon flashing. Either way, both are great kits with amazing quality , but just wanted to clarify that the short tube kit can be tuned with no problems for those of you that are still interested.

The original kits with the BOV mounted a few inches from the MAF made things difficult from what we heard from select tuners. We changed that and anyone that had one was given the option to be upgraded to the new style pipe. As for the current location take a look at the Greddy, SBD, Full-Race kits and tell me the upper pipes and MAF's aren't damn near identical to ours. Even the MAP kit has the BOV just as close to the MAF as our original layout. I'd love to hear what makes ours so different. We do a lot of installs here at the shop and never have issues.

Either way it shouldn't be an issue, especially with the long route piping kit.
