The other is a @#$@ing Lotus....seriously? That's not the same class. $$$$ says so. He was arguing something about the Celica and the Si......from the Si of the same generation as the Celica being discussed, you're looking at similar weight, and a Celica pumping out 20 more hp than the Honda engine. Also, when you speak of Civic Si's....the EP3 isn't exactly the most stellar of the lineup you brag first about. |

He was arguing that the 2ZZ would be better suited in lighter applications. He then gave 2 example, both of which are lighter than the Celica; even through it was considered a light car at 2,500lbs.

I figured that the 2ZZGE is pretty much the spiritual successor to the 4AGE so someone must've tried. But never heard of it. Probably too much fab work to turn it North-South. All the above swaps have a FR configuration available.

Any engine is better suited in a lighter car. Thats the benefit of having a lighter car. I counter by saying, for its class, and price range, the 2ZZ was an excellent fit in the Celica.

I was listing swaps I've personally seen. Not doubting a 3 rotor has been put in there, just haven't seen it.
Edit: @dragon...you know, the Formula D page does list Taka's engine as an AZ...and I never really did get a chance to look under his hood. But I swear, from looking at the front of the valve cover from his hood scoop...and listening to him go back up the hill....I swear that was a 4A. I could be COMPLETELY wrong though. |
