Unfortunately this is really common with these units. Just sent a customer's unit to JRSC for warranty off his BRZ. Tons of Civic guys (also customers) have had blower failures -- some seizing 40 miles in. Extremely unreliable blowers IMO.

edit: to clarify, I feel that JRSC makes a great kit, we've installed a couple and they are well put together kits. So my feelings about the Rotrex units themselves should in no way reflect on JRSC as JRSC is a great company and we enjoy working with them.

This makes me nervous about running the high boost pulley. I'm seriously considering swapping back to the original pulley.

It seems like the JRSC has less issues than others out there.

I would love for Jackson Racing to comment on these failures. Do they know what is causing it? Is it customer error? low oil? Over rev? Manufacturing defects?

yep 3-4 weeks. mostly it was probably shipping time from me to them, then from them to rotrex. once rotrex gave them the okay they just sent me a whole new unit from their stock(it came with new oil and reservoir all in the same box just like a whole new kit does). i think it's just cheaper/faster to send it off the shelf like that for them. this is all completely conjecture because my reality was that i sent it in and waited 3-4 weeks to receive the new one. i received an e-mail telling me the new one was being sent, but that was it. initial shipping costs were on me and they took care of the rest.

i think jrsc probably has some speculation, but i doubt they do much more than do a quick test of the unit and send it to rotrex for evaluation. if warranty claims on the blowers are high then it's up to rotrex to track down what went wrong where(that's why serial numbers are so important).

in the end i don't think jrsc would keep using rotrex if they had typical high failure rates. i'm just thinking that there is just a bad batch out there and they are slowly getting warrantied. but that's just this guys opinion.

The unit was replaced under warranty. The process takes a while, but JR will take care of you.

Warranty only applies to original purchaser.
