Too good to be true. Bad news about doing this.
My car caught fire and blew up from this "fix".
Should have heeded the naysayers.

This DIY would only have negative results in the long run. Now you'll have metal on metal contact if you do slam it accidentally and also would cause rust in the future and not to mention shorten the life of the lock.

That would be funny if OP's trunk flew open during a drive from this.

Is it really that hard to shut the trunk. Cmon now

Could you explain more about this issue spring? I've never had an issue getting out.

I guess this is a FRS thing.
My BRZ has the smoothest trunk closing and door opening of any car I have had.

What do you need a video?

Not only do I NOT have to slam my trunk but just letting it close by gravity is "slamming it" too hard.
And I don't even know what you are talking about with the doors being too hard to pull the handle?

the trunk closing part I agree (maybe), but the doors???

My 2009 Kia's doors are way more silent than these, and I'm not talking about the other 30 something cars I had since I drive...

Smooth opening/closing should not go in the same sentence as FR-S/BRZ...

These cars probably have the shitiest doors/windows closing/opening combo in the world...

Don't get me wrong, I love my car, but please, it doesn't hurt to be realistic...

I just want you to explain what you mean. Are yours hard to open the latch. Hard to push the door open? What is the issue?

I understand you're talking about the "opening" side of things...so ok, I'll give it to you.

My "issues" are with the closing part, the sound the door itself makes, also the window sometime is not positioned perfectly and produces some kind of "clack"... the inner electrical modules not fixed properly, the "don't look at me too hard I may break" regulator, the guides, I could go on...

I was (long time ago) assembling windows in a Honda plant - might be why - but these doors/windows are terrible.

Dealership opened them up a few times, I did too. There are one of the few things I would change on this car.

But if you are solely talking about opening, well I can't disagree!

Maybe you have fcked up doors, because mine can close fully with a tiny gust of wind or the smallest amount of force and they barely make a sound. The trunk is a bit of a bitch but I haven't seen doors easier to close than on my brz (that includes severals, Hondas, bmw, Lexus). I can get the window thing but the door noise, my doors need so little force to close they are pretty much silent (Actually happened about 6-7 times I thought it may still be open as I didn't close with any force but no fully closed door). Maybe something is wrong with your door?

OP: Please don't spam the thread with worthless posts to get your post count up.

As for the doors and trunk, my 2013 BRZ that I owned had no issues with the doors making noises opening or closing and the trunk closed without any force. No different from any of my other cars. Could be something changed along the line or simply poor QC.

you guys are kidding right? These doors / windows are the worst POC I've seen in years...

No one got the vertical scratches issues? They had to change my windows 2 times already, and the scratches are still coming back after the supposed "fix"...

No one has the "weeeee" sound when it's rainy and you lower the windows?

wow... I must be making this up...!

edit: oh and I forgot about the windows freezing open and the programmed up/down feature losing it at the same time...

window/door issues? nahhhh... must be in my head.

Seriously I love this car, but the guy that designed the doors/windows should be fired.
