Your car's ECU has adjusted the engine to work with acidic sludge ....... and if you change it ...... the engine will fly apart .......

Sort of like the old days, if you had always run with non-detergent oil and all of a sudden you put in detergent oil …….. the engine would start knocking and leaking ……

Oh god I remember doing exactly that. Change to detergent oil and every gasket, seal and even the rings let loose. Blue smoke and puddles everywhere. Three or four cans of STP stop leak would fix you right up for anther 100K miles though.

YES, by draining the oil onto the driveway, it keeps down the dust.

Dust creates a condition that enhances mite proliferation, mites feed on beneficial plants, including trees, which weakens and can kill them.

So there, tree huggers ......

Sorry. I meant Subaru shortened the interval to 6k. Scion left it alone at 7.5k.
