I always find it almost impossible to get a nice smooth gloss finish on a car model, whereas it's pretty easy to get a good flat military finish on planes or armor, and wear and dirt are easily applied with a dry brush. |

Nice work on your model.
Tamiya also makes a 1/10 RC model. A little harder to modify Lexan, so I just have a 1.0 paint job on a stock 86 body.

Dip clear parts in Future floor polish. Makes them crystal clear and if you crew up you can just wash it off with some windex and start over.

Me too. I now paint gloss subjects flat and then use (you guessed it) Future Floor polish to make them gloss. I use a pile of that shit.

I remember back when I first started airbrushing models with acrylic paints, I would just dump the paint right in the cup and start spraying. I ended up with a chunky textured mess. After a little research I found that most gloss or semi-gloss paint needed to be thinned out with either thinner or distilled water, sometimes a 1:1 ratio or even a 1:2 paint to thinner. Made a huge difference in quality and ease.

Shipping would have cost more since it would be heavier.

Was my most recent. Going into the IPMS show in October once I finish the support vehicles. I am beginning to think we need a new thread for Military Modellers as there seem to be a few here.

![]() I'm sitting here looking at all you guys with your models you made yourself. Last Christmas I had bought myself a Tamiya BRZ kit, but I realized I had to actually paint everything myself (I didn't have the time to do that) so I traded it for a AUTOart GT86

By the time you get the kit, the proper equipment to do the job and learn the skills through practice by ruining a few other kits it would probably be cheaper to just buy the real thing.
