Well here goes;

It's been awhile since i've updated this and a lot has truthfully changed on the car. This was my first car that i've decided to build. My inspiration comes from many of the cars that caught my eye while growing up in the Hawaii car scene. I felt that I could combine the new school aggressive fitment style with a quality JDM build. It was my way of seeing how far can I take it. I love shakotan/ onikyan style from Japan and beautiful JDM/ quality builds. So within this past year, I decided to take all of that and try my best to pull it off. It isn't 100% complete as I continue to tweak the fitment to be a little lower and tighter, and also finish the engine bay, interior and brakes. This car is my street car that I love to cruise and drive to wherever I can (school, work, date nights with le girlfriend, etc), and also be able to take it to meets and car shows. This isn't for most people, and I respect that. The build will continue and wont ever stop.

Just updating this build thread, I want to start really posting more...first things first.

Installed a Bride Zeta 3 Type L bucket seat in the car mounted to Bride FG rails courtesy of Thomson @ System Motorsports.

Always wanted to own one, and have in my car. Was pretty excited about having it in there, slowly getting used to driving with a bucket again.

This past sunday was Subie Showoff 2018 in Hawaii. Me, and a few buddies decided we'd roll in together, and stage together at the show. It was a sunny day, gave a few people sun burns, but it was nice to finally catch up with old friends we haven't seen in awhile.

A friend of mine took some photos of the BRZ as I was staged, and when I was rolling in for the slam car limbo challenge.

Recently acquired reman front Z32 30mm aluminum calipers from a good friend of mine. I originally wanted some project mus or even brembos, but after stumbling onto a DIY on nicoclub of someone using z32 calipers on their brz... I decided to try it out for myself.

My plan is to run the required..
-316mm legacy GT rotors (for 5x100)
-KNS caliper adapter
-s14 brake lines
-Hawk Semi Metallic Street pads

I plan to run a blank rotor for now, until my oem rear pads and rotors begin to go, so I can do full slotted rotors all around, + Project Mu hi temp brake fluid, and Project Mu street pads.

Super stoked with this.

Follow up on the Z32 brake caliper upgrade.

Purchased the calipers from Orielly's Auto Parts. Good quality rebuild, just missing a few clips here and there. Here's a tip, if you buy your calipers reman from the auto part store, chances are the retaining clip/ spring whatever its called that helps hold the pads in place may not fit as theyre made for the smaller calipers; not the 30mm. So I ended up buying new hardware for the calipers from z1motorsports, along with my project mu street pads.

Overall experience;

Worth while budget upgrade. I do feel the difference in brake feel. It's firmer, and a bit more responsive. Was it worth it? In my opinion, yes. Granted, rotors and pads are the cheaper option in terms of upgrades, this satisfied my want for a bigger caliper behind the wheel that wasn't stock...

I plan to repaint the calipers, as well as upgrade to slotted rotors soon all around.

Shoutout to the original poster for the write up on Z32 calipers for the BRZ. This is one of my favorite mods I've done to the car. I plan to go with a true BBK one day, however I do enjoy having this for the time being.

ps; heres the new wheel setup. I've fallen more in love with driving the car, and ended up selling my aggressive Meisters, for some oem R33 gtr wheels. Simple setup for the time being as I also purchased a 5x114 conversion hub kit. These r33's will serve as my daily wheels, and spares once I start buying wheels again.
