RPF1 may be more common but it's also easier to find a buyer when need to get rid of them. They're pretty good value overall.

Considering the fact that 245/40-18 AD08R weigh 26.6lbs and 245/40-17 AD08R weigh 25.7lbs, you have to ask yourself whether the wheel + tire weight combo of one justifies it over the other competing combo.

It's not that the wheel is flexing before the suspension moves, it's that the wheel is flexing. You want to remove as much unwanted compliance as possible. At the level 99% of people drive, it's not an issue, but like I said in the other reply, it makes a difference at world class levels.
