I always keep my music on blast so I'm always confuse when people say the noise bothers them. Doesn't bother me one bit since I'm concentrating on how terrific the whole chassis of the car is.

Totally possible to purchase one and not know about it.
Totally impossible to have 58 posts on this forum and not know though. Every 3rd thread has some reference someplace for crying out loud.

Spoke to my dealership about it and they told me that it's normal... However they told me that Subaru has a revised hpfp that they will install under warranty.

Why release a revised part if it's so normal?

It is normal and they have issued 5 "revised" parts all of which changed nothing.
There is a Service Bulletin for it because even though "normal" people still complain.

Because whiners. You have a 50/50 chance of the new pump chirping as well. They are on (IIRC) the fifth revision of the pump and they still chirp. ETA: I think it is cavitation, and there is not a damn thing they can do to "fix" it.

A pump should not chirp at all... Perhaps the revisions won't get rid of it but that's a design issue.

There are several pumps that chirp we are not exclusive.

So get to work and sell us a pump that doesn't. Perhaps you could redesign the injector system as well, because that can be a little noisy too.
