I'm always polite to cops and comply with whatever they ask. I'm the one in trouble so I don't see why I'd want to piss them off. I just asked him how he knew how fast I was going and he told me front facing radar (we passed each other and he turned around), and I was just like Oh, ok. Well sorry about that. Then he told me he had a WRX and asked me a couple questions about the car. He asked me if it was fast and I had to blush and say "it's not as fast as it looks, but it's fun". He ran my license and insurance, didn't ask for registration, must not have run the plates, and let me off with a warning.

I've gotten off with a few warnings, I've gotten hammered with tickets too, just depends on what you're doing and what kind of officer you get. Experiences like that motivate me to behave more than getting a bunch of tickets though, makes me feel like I owe him one.

Just thought it was weird, I have no idea what goes into the front plate then other than your license plate. But wouldn't that go to the back of your car.

Why would you think anything other than a license plate would go in the "front plate"? The front plate is the front license plate. It goes on the front and the back.. you have two.

Some states require two license plates. Which is why he was probably asking what goes in the front.

I don't suppose you caught the officers name? We have a friend who previously owned an STi and now he has a Jeep that is with SAPD.

No, didn't get his name. Young hispanic guy. Probably doesn't narrow it down much for SA. I think he did say it was an sti.

Nice. I've been lucky in my time; I've been pulled over about 6 times in the last 7 years, including once for cutting off a semi while I had expired tabs and no proof of insurance (though I did have insurance, the card was just expired), but I've never actually been ticketed. Got off with a warning every single time. I've had the BRZ for 2 months now and have yet to get pulled over. I'm certainly more cognizant of police than I was when I drove my Outback.

I had a black 2012 Challenger. I got "pulled over" twice sitting still at a traffic light and numerous times doing 5 or less over the limit and once when they asked "what's a white guy doing in this neighborhood?". I only got one ticket and that one was pretty substantial. That car was a cop magnet.

In this car I've passed what appears to be speed traps with a cop in the car at 20 over and they haven't even moved. I've also come up on two of them at a pretty good clip and realized at the last second that I HAD to back off immediately. Strangely enough I've yet to have a bad time due to my stupidity.

I got pulled over and the cop didn't even mention the lack of front plate or tint. Thats was pretty nice of him.
He wasn't too pleased with 125 mph in a 65mph though.
That hurt.
