Are you on stock wheels or did you opt for a wider wheel? What size mpss are you running?

How long have you had the tires? It takes a few hundred miles for the new tires to break in. Been autoXing and tracked one time with the PSS and thought them to be fairly progressive. Way better on the streets with PSS. Never had a chance to autox or track with OEM since they were destroyed by a pothole.

Modify the suspension and you'll be fine. The changes ideally should be done together, money allowing. After a ton of research I'm going with the hotchkis Stage 1 tvs suspension kit and Enkei RFP1s in a 17x7.5 size with Conti ExtremeContact DWs in a 225 width. It'll be the best setup for a summer DD/track toy and as an added bonus sizes and positions the wheels so they look like they actually belong on the car haha

OK , I'm calling BS on this. You must be Aryton Senna.

I am not new, and not a 20 something.

I have added more than 100bhp to the stock setup on my BRZ.

You simply cannot substitute tires and call yourself an expert. Not even if you are Louis Hamilton! This car has NO power.

Oh my God, did you just jump into a perfectly nice thread discussing tires and piss all over it with that "moar powa" bullshit? Seriously?

OP, your take on mods is spot on. Especially with this platform, everything is already amazingly well balanced/tuned. A sure-fire way to destroy that is to take a whole bunch of shiny parts and throw them onto the car all at once. Poof! Disaster.

If you really want it, one small change at a time. Save your old parts. Maybe the change isn't what you wanted.

I'm happy with the tires as well. Stock wheels are great. I'll probably get the PSS when the time comes just because of all the buzz but, yeah, I bet I'll feel exactly the way you did.

I can slide my Z2's with no power changes as well, it ain't rocket science it's just understanding and controlling your inputs to the car: steering throttle brake & clutch.

It's not an 'at will' thing you can do by stomping your foot on the floor, you have to either try to do it or make a mistake for it to happen.

You must have a very large expensive paperweight.

Honestly, I was impressed with the road holding abilities of the prius tires. During my spirited test drive I never felt it get squirelly even with the traction control killed. My purchase of super sticky tires is only to wrap something around the new wheels. The stock wheels are fugly.
