LOL.

My story.

Wife: Does your car have internet access?
Me: Wut? Why do you ask?
Wife: It must have because car parts keep getting delivered.

Dodged that bullet as mine had all the TRD goodies I was after already installed sitting on the showroom floor.
As far as the wife is concerned they all sit an inch lower and have loud(ish) exhaust (and other things she just can't see).
As long as she never sees or hears a stock one I am golden!

I'm in the same boat. There are way too few places to track it where I live, and I probably get about 5 times a month where the stars align and no one is in the lanes around me so I get to take that corner a bit faster than I normally would and punch it out of the turn.

So for now, just cosmetic and handling mods for me. But I do want a SC some day...

Cancer is definitely a sensitive topic for a lot of people, but it's pretty safe to say reading something won't give someone that illness.. hoped it was far-fetched enough to warrant the joke.

Condolences and prayers if you're going through a hard time or have gone through rough times due to cancer

I've had mine for 18 mos. It's a DD and a track day car. It's lightly modified for track day use, brake pads and fluid, oil cooler, sticky tires, but otherwise stock. I've been on the track a couple of times with supercharged 86s' and I was able to keep up with them in both cases. On the track low power forces you to be a better driver if you have any ambitions of keeping up with more powerful cars. Would I like more power? Of course, but not at the expense of reliability. The problem with factory increases in power is that it almost always comes with additional weight, and that's something that will definitely detract from the experience with this car. It you go the aftermarket FI route, the reliability bugaboo is bound to rear its ugly head. I don't stop light drag race on the street, so the power is more than adequate in that setting.

Couple things here;

• The first comment on that site has a point... Honda released the s2000 12 YEARS before the twins with 40 extra HP. keep in mind that the s2000 dynos close to hondas numbers, while the twins dyno far below its provided numbers.
• This car needs more power. Just because you are satisfied (or have convinced yourself of this), doesn't mean that most people don't notice that it is in fact lagging in the power department. Nearly EVERY driving enthusiast who has reviewed this car, has agreed about this.
• This thread is full of fanboys making excuses... Just stop. There is no excuse. Toyota and subaru got lazy on the engine, period. Just look at the other threads, nearly EVERY single member is looking to make this car faster, and most have had to boost it just to get decent power.
• You don't mind the stock power. Fine, but please stay out of our way while we plead with Toyota & Subaru to make a decent engine.

It always cracks me up to see people say that the stock power is perfect. If this car had debuted with 240hp, would the same people be saying that the car has 40hp too many? Lol

I'll throw out a different perspective. I think the car looks silly with the skinny tires. If I go out and put larger wheels and tires on the car ..... this will ultimately add weight that will further tax the boxer motor. Therefore .... the car needs another 50HP to make up the difference for some decent sized rubber. Not sure the lightest wheels with larger rubber weighs less than the stockies.

I believe a part of the problem is also because we are spoiled by the current crop of family sedans that make more torque at lower rpms. Everytime the accelerator is pressed in a hurry, we expect to car to prance forward and tear away. This car can also do that but you need to work the engine through the right rpms. The art of revving the engine to its limit and listening to it while it hits the redline seems to be dying.

Will a turbo be good? Absolutely. It would make the car that much more capable. Is it a necessity? Maybe not for a regular driving experience. It is a case of personal preference and not something about which a generalized statement can be made.

You didn't read the post! I didn't say I that I don't want more power or that it was perfect. What I said was that I don't want it at the expense of weight or reliability, and for that matter cost. Give me 300 hp, 2700 lbs, $25K sell price, a factory warranty, and I'll be first in line.

I have 18x8.5 wheels with 225/40 tires on them and the weight is the same as stock.

The stock wheels are HEAVY.
