I have Matte Black, but ill probably peel it soon. I want to reapply the black with some glossifier this time... plus it got screwed up by some **** using a power washer on them when I asked for a hand wash...
But for $25 and a weekend afternoon, you can't go wrong... |

![]() Black, no gloss. I just did it as a temporary project until I can get the wheels I really want.

Also did mine while I save up for the rims that I really want. Turned out well for a few bucks and a couple hours though.

Plasti dip is more trouble than is worth Imo. I plasti dipped my wheels and front lip a while back. It looked ok to begin with. After a month or two they were stained with brake dust which could'nt be removed. After six or seven months it had become completely solid with the wheel and couldn't be peeled. Same story for the front lip. Drench it in wd40 and blast with a pressure washer if that happens

if you have trouble with plastidip, then peel it off and podwer coat them. May be more expensive than you think, but better than a set of new wheels and may give the rims a refreshed look without the worry of peeling or chipping of paint. Personally powder coating the rims to a metalic silver on a black 86 would look amazing to me.
