Is there a rule of thumb about spring pressure and and boost controllers? I mean, I've got an 8psi actuator from AVO also so is it better to install that and modulate the extra 2 psi with mbc to get the boost stable?

And the driveability is awesome. No complaints there.

The general rule is don't ask a MBC to do more than double the spring pressure. With that being said the AVO turbo will always drop some psi in the upper RPM range because of it's size.
