I'll be there Saturday. It'll be my first AutoX event and running CS. I'll need advice and help. What to bring? What to do to prep the car? What time to get there for the prep work?

I read the informational from the site but probably best to get advice from someone who has done it before.

Excited and looking forward to the event.

I anticipate being there on Sunday.
Saturday will be difficult to make since i'm hosting a BBQ at my house... i might try to go for the morning runs since I live < 5mins from Mather.

Since your running CS you dont really need to bring anything but your licence and your car. if you have your own helmet bring it but if you dont have one they usually have loaners. if you want to mess with tire pressure then bring a air compressor/ plug in tire pump (the ones you can plug into the 12v lighter plug in the car).

I used to run in CS and never bring anything but my helmet, a Gatorade and my GoPro. (i'll have to move to STX i think cuz i have a header now. smarter people correct me if i'm wrong)

Sounded like some folks tape up the front bumper and hood but figuring this is probably more for the tracks where cars are passing you up or you catching up to other cars.

Is there a place to store your removed spare tire or is it even necessary to remove any of those items?

some people remove the spare but i never do and to be honest unless you are shooting for thousands of a second i dont think its worth the time. i do need to mention that im lazy and dont want to have to put everything back lol

taping the front of your car is more for the track. in autox you dont have someone in front of you to shoot rocks and rubber at the front of your car. its just you and a bunch of cones.

Also, shouldn't have anything rolling around loose inside the car at all. Cabin bay OR trunk. They do inspect the trunk of course.

Don't tape up anything, you will just look like a doofus. Thats for track days.

Loooong day today...

Came out of it with a 58.999 and a dent due to hitting a cone on a previous run with a spin

Had a great day, huge twin turnout- check the starting grid pic I snapped. My car is in the foreground.

It was great weather, good company, and the realization that I need to do some more work on the car. The highlights of the autocross in general were the huge turnout, and the truck (yes, truck!) and Lotus Europa.
Overall, a pretty good day.

The afternoon runs were much MUCH smaller! I think we had about 25 cars in the final group including the carts?

The morning run groups were like double that or more!
