EDIT: this doesn't tell you what pressure you will get, but will give you an idea of what oil you should run based off temp to ensure oem designed oil pressure is maintained.
Looks like the viscosity@ 100C for your Subaru BRZ OEM (Idemitsu, BTW. Toyota service fill is XOM) is based a used oil analysis. You should look for a virgin oil analysis of the Subaru and Toyota oils for a slightly better comparison.

Also, HTHS viscosity affects oil pressure as well.

Ya I figured it was a bit on the low side because being used. thanks. I'll keep looking.

I have an Innovate MTX and it maxes out @ 100psi on cold start. Driving around town I see around 17psi at fully warmed up at idle and 15psi if I'm really banging on it. I did 12 runs @ an AutoX practice day and as temps rose, the pressure dropped. At it's lowest, I think I saw 9-10psi @ idle, which was after 4 runs in quick sucession. I should note that the temp maxxed after 2 runs back to back and stayed there.

A good rule of thumb is about 10psi per 1000rpm, like someone else mentioned.

I should have my temporary oil pressure gauge installed this week. One thing is when you are somewhat reverse engineering data it's hard to get a baseline without others participating. I think this motor is very efficient.

I have not seen any proof so far 0w20 is bad for this car. Its obvious regardless of oil choice to have a cooler installed if you track the car. But it will be good to get some data on pressures in this thread.

I'll be installing my Gauge hopefully this week as well. Mine won't be much help determining a baseline through. I am running 5w30 with a full blown turbo kit and an oil cooler. But I'll report what i get to compare when i test it out.

I went to an hpde last weekend and saw pressures drop to about 45psi at 7000rpm at 250-260f after a bunch of laps. AVO turbo at 7psi with 300v 0w20

I'll be investing in an oil cooler soon. I'm thinking maybe the robispec setup or a water one

I have the oil gallery plug for NBT and Prosport gauge (temp).
Been trying to figure out where I am going to wire it to and how to do the dimmer, I have never really ****ed with that stuff before. What are you plans for that?

The 250-260F isn't a problem for the oil but I can see being FI, the bringing the oil temps down will reduce the possibility of detonation. Definitely want to get the pressure up.

I'm not comfortable with 45psi at 7k. If you go track your car again before getting a cooler, try some 5w-40 and report back.

I have the same. A 52mm prosport gauge with the oil gallery plug. The previous owner of my vehicle installed a boost gauge near where I'm putting the oil pressure gauge so I'll most likely tap into the same lines the boost gauge uses. I'll see if i can tell what lines he used when i install mine.

Yeah the temp doesn't bother me as much as the pressure drop. I was thinking of trying 5w30 since I DD it significantly more than I track it.

Installed the gauge tonight, and noticed they sent me the wrong one of course after I completed the install. Pain in the ass.

Interesting initial data collection, its clear oil temp plays a major roll in pressures.

0W20 Redline (Fresh Change)
IDLE OIL PRESSURES

175F = 19PSI

190F = 15PSI

198F = 11PSI

210F = 9PSI
