I agree, if it wasn't for the sweep at key-on, probably wouldn't ever bother to set it. I sure can't hear it, and can only really notice it at night.

Exactly, if you use the gear indicator, you'll see a little arrow appear when it's time to shift (for economy). If you follow it, you'll be in 4th gear going 50km/h (30mph). I have the light set at 7k.

I set it to 3800 rpm during break in and haven't bothered to change it since then, mostly because I forgot how to do it and I don't pay much attention to it anyways.

Mine is set to 3500 to make sure I don't rev too high while the engine isn't properly warm.
I live about 2 minutes from the highway so it's cold start to 100+km/h within a matter of minutes.

I've got mine set to 7200. There is already a built in shift light for economy. If you display your gear in the digital display you can also make it so that a little arrow flashes when it is best to shift for economy. It is a lot more accurate than you guessing because it has actually been programmed into the ECU and the shift lift flashes at different RPM depending on what gear you are in

I do wish it was louder as well. I am sure someone will come out with an aftermarket solution for this.... its just a little buzzer behind the dash I am assuming. cant be that hard to change

I wish it was louder AND brighter. It would be much more useful that way.

Could be wrong but IIRC it's an option to set beep on or off, same menu that you use to set the sweeper / light itself.

Verified. After setting the RPM at which the light comes on, you are asked to toggle the audible beep on or off

Have it set to 7000, mainly just for the sweep. With my tune by Moto-east, I have a really soft rev limiter, so I don't really "bounce" off it at redline, so I can hold redline for a second or two...really sweet.

The shift light is for approaching the redline. There is already a fuel economy shift up indicator on the multi function display.

I set my shift light to 7000rpm.

The Casio beep at redline isn't really audible with the music on.
