All this discussion is good. Now I just need to read the labels when I'm at the JRP open house

Although I know what you're trying to say here (in regards to SA helmets), ANY impact renders a helmet garbage. The multiple impacts is for a rollover or any spectacular crash you get in to. Please don't think that if you drop/impact an SA helmet only once that it's still good to use.

If you're familiar with the ASN Canada FIA regulations, which govern all motorsports in the country, SA is not mandatory UNLESS your car has a roll cage, be it autoslalom, time attack, lapping, or what-have-you (obviously, if you're road/door-to-door racing you car will be caged, so SA required). However, organizations are free to impose any kind of mandate on helmets for their events.

All of this is true. SA is also generally lined with nomex and can be lighter than M class helmets due to materials and construction.

For anyone operating a car on a full track, I'd consider a neck brace at very minimum as the added weight can be a strain on your neck in the event in a collision.
