I have driven a 2003 Toyota Matrix since I bought it brand new! I think that was the first year for them. It's a silver XR with just over 117k miles on it. It is being transitioned to my stepson when he turns 16 in a month and a half.

That's a perfect car for a 16 year old. I thought the car was great, until, well, it broke because of the dealer.

I guess my plan for now is to go there when they tell me it is ready, look it all over, inside and out, take a photo of the odometer (to get the low mile picture!), and then take it for a quick test drive, listening for any weird sounds, etc.

Now just hurry up and GET here!
Funny, my dealer swapped for mine from a dealer around Chattanooga back in October. Had 285 miles on it from the drive over to Memphis. Dealer/salesperson wouldn't let me take it without a test drive.

I'm hoping my new Monogram won't have anywhere CLOSE to that many miles!

MAKE SURE THEY PUT PREMIUM FUEL IN THE CAR. I ordered mine. When it arrived ... I did the inspection and with the saleperson in the passenger seat .... drove directly to a Chevron station and filled the car with premium fuel. The dealership paid for the fuel.

When it was in production it was actually the most American car on the road with 95% or parts and assembly happening in the USA. Second being the Ford F-150 at 94%.

Good call. Mine is all scraped up between parking blocks and driveways. I can't want to be careful enough to avoid everything, but I do want $300.
