I'll get it figured out one way or another. The car isn't going anywhere anytime soon anyhow since this is a picture of the road in front of my house presently:

Uh... changing back to street pads would be a pretty good solution.

Right. Which also involves changing the rotors as well since the materials aren't compatible.

Properly (fully) bedded XP10 will be silent, and unaudible with the windows up.

What tires are you on, and what is your experience? I'm assuming you're on the stock braking system? A lot of locals can verify that the race pads on my s2k are completely silent, as well as the CSG BRZ.

Stock brakes except for SS lines and master cylinder brace. Tires are Falken Azenis RT-615K. I'm not the best judge of tires but I had a friend run it at the HPDE and thought the setup was very good.

Edit: Forgot to mention the rotors are Centric blanks that i've only run with the XP10's.

If you are anal about mixing brake compounds, which is understandable, a once over with the scotch bright pad or wheel should do the trick.

Although, from what I've read about with people swapping pads at trackdays, there is little to no consequence when doing this. I'd still clean the rotors up if it were me.

The only benefit to using compatible compounds is not having to re-bed the pads after swapping them.

I've experienced this same issue. It started happening after a few days of spirited use. The noise isn't that bad, I expected some. The only part that worries me is the noise when the brakes aren't depressed. Once depressed it immediately stops. I already took the pads off, cleaned everything, checked that the bolts were to torque spec etc. I may try throwing the shims from the stock pads on.

Some somewhat related feedback: judging from the sound in the video, you should be able to brake a bit harder without engaging ABS. This may help you get the brakes bedded in better.

They shouldn't be making noise when you're just rolling, unless you didn't do any cooldown after bedding and you left some deposits (melted some pad, and it solidified on the rotor). Deposits will go away over time.

Just got a chance to take off the left-front wheel to inspect the pads/rotor since that one was squeeling constantly. Here's what it looks like:

Looking at the last picture of the pads you can definitely see that the pad closest to the camera has a dark line through the lower 1/3rd of the pad that is shiny. I'm assuming that's glazed.

As far as the rotors go i can't tell to be honest if they're glazed or not. Debating if i should get some garnet paper and try hitting the pads a bit or what i should do at this point. Only one HPDE on the pads/rotors and everything was bedded properly - the brakes felt awesome at the track. Now, definitely less bite and very loud.

Mine are acting the same way. But performed great today at AMP.
I get a slight squeal at certain speeds from the pads.

Took off the rotors and had them turned to just take off the top layer. Cleaned up everything possible in the brakes. Took a little garnet paper to the pads to make sure they were clean.

Re-bedded the rotors/pads and the squeel is back. Keep in mind i didn't use the shims or any grease. Time to put the Bobcat's on and save the XP10's for the track.

Glad to hear you liked the pads. I used them at Barber Motorsports Park November and was extremely happy with them. Will be running the same pads again in April at Barber.

Decided i'll be swapping in the Bobcats i have sitting around for daily use. XP10's will be re-enlisted for track duty. Too noisy for the street.
