OP, I do t know you whole situation but sticker says 9.5L/100km in city and 6.5L/100km highway.
Now today I did my first fill up ever with the car. Picked it up new on Friday. I was at 1/4 tank left. Now I know when I reached 3/4 left it was reading 19.5L/100km average, at 1/2 tank was down to 12.5L/100km and at time of fill up(1/4 left) the average read 9.8L/100km. Now I use an app on my iphone and manually calculate and record my fuel mileage and was actually 10.5L/100km. Nonetheless why the change from 19.5 to 10.5, changed how much car was sitting and idling( hard when want to prewarm car in -15C to -30C weather, coasting more to stops / less braking as much as possible, reducing amount step on pedal / keeping rpm under 3000 when shifting, and maintaining speed. I know over time with learning more of the car and break in, fuel consumption will he better For city speed limits 50-60km/hr I stay in 5th, anything over 65km/hr would be in 6th |

For the younger ones here, you'd know the car, Datsun, as a Nissan. They changed their name in the U.S. some time ago to Nissan. Quote:

How are you shifting gears, which gear are you using most of the time, are you keeping the rpm's constant or fluctuating? ( do you use the G-on which shows the gears and tells you the exact moment when to shift) ? |

That stuff gives me the willies! Heh. We can talk like that and the youngsters are confused. Kind of like the WW II Navaho Code Talkers ![]() They finished paving Pikes Peak clean to the top. Now the Pikes Peak Hillclimb event is ALL PAVED. It's madness, the speeds they now attain. Check out the video of Sebastian Loeb's record-shattering run in the 2013 Race to the Clouds. They were already going too fast on dirt, but now... Mama Mia! |

I suppose shifting that early and running at such low rpms is acceptable to some after the engine is broken in, but I would suggest keeping the rpms at or above 2000 rpm during the break-in period. I find that upshift indicator to be essentially useless. And sorry about all the Pikes Peak talk. ![]() Are you a motor racing fan? |

guys I know this is not the thread to discuss detailing and waxing and stuff. But I'm not that savvy into the best techniques to leave our Scion/Toyo86 with an outstanding look. What would be the best steps .
1) Wash with a neutral shampoo ? ( silicon based?) Any amazon links. 2) Use an Acrylic sealer wax?
