All I know about throwing vertical doors on a car that does not have it might have issued of not sealing properly when closed and getting misaligned. Good luck, it looks great but expensive to perform and maintain.

+1 for something different.

They're perfectly safe. Don't think of them as little bombs going off, but more like those little breaching charges they use in spy movies to blow off just the door locks.
They're basically strong enough to destroy the hinges and locks so the door can be kicked out in case of emergencies. There are sensors that make these charges go off. In the SLS, I believe they go off after 10 seconds of the car being upside down.

That works, thanks. The problem I was having with visualizing this is because most giant twats drive BMWs.
