Lambo vertical doors
Hi everyone,
I have been looking at possibly getting LSD doors (Lamborghini vertical doors kit) from Car id. What do you think for a 2013 brz? Any cons to vertical doors? Hard to install? |
In Thunder Bay? Hahahaha.
California or southern USA show car stuff only. Spend your $ on snow tires and a remote starter. |
on the other hand... probably no snow on the seats when you open the doors...
worst thing ever. |
|
Please don't. They look horrible.

If you set aside the looks and stigma that goes along with vertical doors on a car that's not an outrageous supercar, there are other obvious reasons why you definitely shouldn't do it.
- They work horribly, getting in and out of your car becomes a real chore - They don't open straight up, they swing out and then lift up - They require constant babying to ensure they work. I knew of one idiot that did it on his car and the shop told him to lubricate them weekly, and when he didn't they ended up getting stuck and not working worth a damn - You look like a huge twat every time you get in or out of your car. That should be enough but I'm sure there's a ton of other insurmountable reasons why you shouldn't do this, before you factor in the fact that you live in Thunder Bay and not Southern California. |
Please don't... you shouldn't need a list of pros and cons. Just don't.

your sig says love racing
if you do, well adding lambo doors isn't helping you out |
I think OP is sand bagging and doesn't want to admit that the reason he wants to do this is because his garage is too narrow to park a two door next to his STi Cabrio.

Good God please don't. It'd be worse than that dude that that installed his stupidly high spoiler the wrong way.

You guys are hating, let them man do whatever he wants with his baby.

They look cool in Lamborghinis, and that's about it.
They're cool but the problem is that after market scissor doors don't work well. One, they have failed many times in the past and can injure you if your arms or legs happen to be in its path when it fails and falls down while getting in and out. Second, what happens if you get in a wreck and your car is upside down? How will you get out of a car that might be in flames or what not? Lamborghinis and other cars like the SLS AMG have explosive charges in their door hinges to blow the doors off if the car ends up upside down so at least you can get out. Aftermarket won't offer that. It's just a huge safety hazard, besides the fact that you look like a poser every time you get out of the car. |

Edit: For OP's benefit, found best pic I could of FT86 with lambo doors. http://cdn.mkimg.carview.co.jp/minka...t=4a4bfdaf1638 Just entertaining myself on a snowy day at home. Of course OP is going to do what he wants with his car. |
