Thats scary... Talk to the manager and tell them they need to fix that immediately. That looks like its a pure gasoline pump. Typically these are used for older carbureted vehicles that cant handle ethanol content in their systems. Some tanks are not coated and will corrode with the ethanol, as well as lines, pumps, etc.

OFT - First E85 tank in my car. Acting weird.

Gas stations don't care about tuned cars.. Lol

Case in point: There are several stations in my area where I refill. Just so there are no misunderstandings, I kindly ask the attendant to "Please fill with 92 octane.". Attendant proceeds to confusingly stare at me for that awkward 5 seconds before I have to restate my request by asking for Super Unleaded or Premium or what-ever-the-fuck-the-station-names-their-piss-gas. Then they SMILE and proceed with my original request. I live in Oregon where I can't pump my own gas, because the state thinks I'm a moron.

I have to say it's pretty neat how smart our ECU's are - back a few years ago your car might have been toast, but your ECU figured out how to compensate and save the day.

Thanks for the help guys. I should have been 100% sure before pumping.
buy an ethanol content test kit. Test before you fill up your car, it only take a few seconds if you have the tester prepared and ready to go (filled with the proper amount of water).

To be fair, gas stations don't need to care about tuned cars. And technically, e85 is "only" supposed to be run in a flex-fuel vehicle, which would run 100% a-ok on that ethanol-free 87.

Also, I lived in Oregon for a few years. I remember more than a handful of times where I'd catch the monkey at the pump starting to put 87 in because he "forgot" I said premium. My stock turbo fxt at 18psi wouldn't be too happy with 87, lol.

While I agree it's pretty retarded and I do usually get out and pump it myself, there are some benefits. When it's cold and windy as hell, it's nice to just sit in the car. We pay some of the lowest price per gallon for gas in the country because, in part, of that stupid law. The only thing I've noticed recently is that some stations have switched to pumps that require you to swipe an attendant card first so you can't pump it yourself.
